Hello Friends of the CMCA!

Here's the latest news and updates from the CMCA. As alway we appreciate your continued support in our mission to enhance the lives of children in Catonsville and our surrounding communities.

We're having our Annual Fundraiser at the Atlantic on Tuesday November 4th at 6:00pm. All are welcome and we'll have a 50/50 raffle and ticketed auction prizes. We always look forward to getting together with our CMCA friends and family, we hope to see you there!

After our fundraiser we're excited to kick off the holiday season with one of our biggest events of the year, Catonsville's Annual Tree Lighting! To start things off, the group will be out on Saturday November 15th at 9am to decorate the tree. Stop by and say hi if you're out and about!

New this year, we will be selling long sleeve t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts, with all proceeds going to the Santa House. They'll be for sale at Pat's Porch on Frederick Rd. in Catonsville once they're available, keep an eye out on social media for more details!

The Tree Lighting itself will take place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (November 29th), a schedule of the evening will follow, please keep an eye out here or at the Catonsville Santa House website for more details as we get closer to the festivities.

Looking forward to the new year, in 2026 we are excited to bring back pizza night at RICA (the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents). We're excited to start this event again and it will take place at 6:00pm on Wednesday January 7th 2026 at RICA.

In administrative news, we elected new board members for 2026! In the upcoming year, Ben Hatfield will succeed Sandy Steeves as the new President of the CMCA while Jack Kinally will take over as Treasurer for Gary Bernhard. We are grateful for the contributions of both Sandy and Gary in their roles and look forward to their continued involvement with the CMCA. We would especially like to thank Gary for his decades long run as treasurer for the last 39 years!

Finally, we wanted to take a moment and acknolwedge the passing of one of our founding members, Walter Amass Jr. In Walter's honor, the CMCA will be making a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, keeping in line with his vision to support the children and families in need within our community.
